The citizens have responded greatly to the outdoor rink as family and friends from the entire region have been attending the sessions, thus confirming Xtraice as a leader in manufacturing synthetic ice rinks.
The new installation in the UK is located at Bitts Park in Carlisle in Cumbria County. The municipality approached Xtraice with their proposal to install a synthetic ice rink to offer its citizens year round access to an outdoor skating rink – an activity that was never possible in this region before.
Olympic figure skater, David King who just recently returned from the Sochi Winter Olympic Games participated in the opening of the Xtraice rink, partaking in a performance and then remaining on the ice to skate with fans.
The Xtraice ecological ice rink which is portable will most likely be relocated to the city centre for next Christmas.
