Disney skaters joined the public, for a skate-around on the Hancock sky-high synthetic Xtraice ice rink.
Disney skaters glided around the Xtraice icerink with a few willing members of the public. Afterwards, Mickey and the crew posed for a few snapshots.
The 900-square foot rink rests 1000 feet in the sky, in a room thats neither cold nor wet. Still, Xtraice is maintained just like regular ice rink. Its cleaned by “a team of human Zambonis” according to the observatorys general manager Daniel Thomas. In fact, he added, “the NHL team Florida Panters use a practice rink made of Xtraice”.
